Matthew Harvey, who earned his PhD in Political Science with a focus on environmental political theory in spring 2023, was recently featured in the Colorado Arts and Sciences Magazine. Matthew was interviewed as part of the article, “Pale Blue Dot or Bust?” regarding his views on the topic of “anthropocentrism,” the idea that humanity is exceptional or central in the universe. A chapter of his dissertation challenged this view and was later adapted and published as a paper, titled “The Sublime and the Pale Blue Dot: Reclaiming the Cosmos for Earthly Nature” in the publication Environmental Values.
